According to data from the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD), in Vietnam, about 33.4 million people are living with chronic diseases.
About 7.2 million people in Vietnam are living with disabilities.
In 2019, Vietnam recorded about 350,000 cases of injury due to traffic accidents, accounting for a large part of the national disease burden. This rate includes injuries from motorbike, bicycle, and other vehicle accidents, with the rate of death and loss of work capacity due to injury also being very significant.
