In Uganda people with Disabilities, and other chronic Illnesses are unable to get all the assistive devices they require and its really quiet very expensive to get better care for every person living with chronic illness. Families are incurring exorbitantly high expenditure and very unaffordable. For example speech and Language therapy is a service not common and consultation fee is about 100,000 shillings. Many people in Uganda with assistive devices have ended with secondary disabilities because the country does not have any policy standardizing distribution of assistive devices.
