There are provisions for Persons with Disabilities in Uganda National documents such as the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda (1995) under Section XIV of the preamble which mentions the right to health; it states that Persons with Disabilities should enjoy the same rights as members of the general population in all health institutions. The revised National policy on Disability Uganda (2023), this highlights the vulnerability of persons with disabilities as far as health service delivery is concerned; Budgeting for disability inclusion; status of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities among other components. On the other hand, the Persons with Disability Act 2020 part II focuses on the right to quality education and Health, special health services, prevention of disability, measures of rehabilitation and reasonable accommodation; Part IV which is accessibility, emphasizes access to information.

There is need to implement such laws and policies in Uganda. However much there are these national documents, the implementation. There is poor access of Women and Girls with Disabilities to Sexual and Reproductive Health care in particular due to lack of informational access and accessibility of health facilities. A lot has not been done due to the fact that policy makers are not aware or those aware are just reluctant hence there is need for reminder in terms of coming up with different intervention in which various stakeholders will be involved/engaged.
