The NGOs have made a tremendous contribution towards the Rehabilitation needs by endeavoring advocacy to the policy makers, i have participated in some of the round table engagements with Policy makers especially Members of parliament where the topic of the discussion has been Rehabilitation needs.
Some NGOs have taken a step to make research and surveys on the status of Rehabilitation Needs, identifying the needs and the gaps in rehabilitation and have shared the reports to the public
Other NGOs have contributed towards making the AT and disseminating it to the public a case example is Katalemwa Cheshire home which produces the Assistive products and make them accessible to the people.
NGOs have as well participated in development of important documents like on National Guidelines for AT and Rehabilitation, Work plans and strategies towards the cause of Rehabilitation needs.

There is lack of access to rehabilitation, and for those who have access to the devices and rehabilitation are not in position to purchase them because they are too expensive for example a pair of a hearing aid ranges from 2.5 m and above Ugandan shillings. This implicates that a few people can actually afford it. More so, there is lack of awareness on Rehabilitation and AT. People have wrong information about Rehabilitation, they think it is only for Persons with disabilities.
