Literature shows that rehabilitation is becoming a national agenda (https://tanzania.un.org/en/269242-new-era-inclusion-individuals-disabilities-tanzania-underway). For many years rehabilitation services have been scarce with the majority of rehabilitation professionals concentrated in cities and townships while very few work in the rural communities where more than 70% of the population dwells. At least there is a community based rehabilitation service but due to lack of capacity, they work more with children with disability in the community with very little service to adults. The government has started implementing plan to send more rehabilitation personnel to the rural areas and increasing number of unavailable rehabilitation personnel such as speech and language therapists by starting training for such.
